Here is a video on how to emergency unlock or remove the key stuck in the ignition on a VW Touareg 7P (2011-2017).

If the car key cannot be removed from the ignition due to a discharged battery, proceed as follows according to the Volkswagen Touareg 7P user manual:

1. Briefly press the emergency unlock button located on the left side of the key using the tip of a pen or something sharp.

2. While holding it down, remove the key from the ignition.

If the car key can only be removed from the ignition using the emergency unlock, then the ignition will need to be checked at the dealership.
