This video tutorial shows you how to manually unlock the automatic transmission or how to move the gear stick from Parking (P) to Neutral (N) on Seat Ateca and Leon (2017-2024) in just 5 easy steps.

This is available in emergency situations such as getting the car on a tow truck or moving it off the road when the car is involved in a car accident, or a dead battery  and you are not allowed to turn on the ignition. 

This procedure could be the same on Volkswagen Jetta >2019, Arteon >2018, Passat >2015, Skoda Kamiq (>2020), Skoda Superb >2016, Scala >2019, etc.

1. Remove the gear shift gaiter and pull it up. Pull the gaiter from the bottom towards the shifter and then upwards.

2. Lift the gaiter up to have access beneath the gear shift.

3. Press the brake pedal and then insert your finger or a flat blade  screwdriver inside and press the yellow button towards the left side of the car.

4. Hold down the yellow button and while holding it down, move the gear shifter from Park to Neutral

After moving the car or putting it on the tow car, move the gear shifter back to Parking.
