Before you start removing the yaw rate sensor G202 and the lateral acceleration sensor  G200 sensors on VW Golf Mk4, Jetta, Bora, you have to disconnect the battery. Be sure to have the radio code, if it’s necessary.

Necessary tools:

• A flat blade screwdriver: https://amzn.to/3thkKWs
  
• A ratchet & extension ratchet: https://amzn.to/3wUiff8
• A T25 Torx (you can find 12-Piece Magnetic Torx Screwdrivers Set HERE: https://amzn.to/3s9GceR)
• 13 mm socket

 

STEP 1: remove those three bolts from the plastic panels under the steering wheel

STEP 2: use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the fuse box cover

STEP 3: take the plastic panels out

STEP 4: remove the bolts from the black panel under the steering wheel and take it out

Disconnect the wiring harness from the G200 sensor (lateral acceleration sensor)

STEP 5: remove the 13 mm bolt from retainer using a ratchet, an extension and a 13 mm socket

Disconnect the wiring harness from the G202 sensor (yaw rate sensor)

STEP 6: take the sensors retainer out

Specified torques:

Yaw rate sender -G200- to retainer 9 Nm. Hexagon bolt to steering column mounting bracket 20 Nm.
