If you don’t know how to change or replace the oil filter on a VW Passat B7 2.0 TDI (diesel), we’ll show you in the next video tutorial.

Necessary tools:
– ratchet / wrench: https://amzn.to/3wUiff8
– extension ratchet
– 32 mm socket
– 19 mm socket
– flat blade screwdriver: https://amzn.to/3thkKWs
– T25 and T45 Torx (you can find 12-Piece Magnetic Torx Screwdrivers Set HERE: https://amzn.to/3s9GceR)

STEP 1: remove the engine cover

STEP 2: make some space above the filter cap replacing the cables / wires

STEP 3: use a ratchet, an extension ratchet and a 32 mm socket to take the filter cap out

STEP 4: take the filter cap out and the oil filter

STEP 5: remove the underbody shield using a T25 and T45 Torx

STEP 6: remove drain plug with a 19 mm socket

Collect the used oil in a special container. When oil is drained, re-tighten drain plug

STEP 7: put back the underbody shield and tighten the screws

STEP 8: remove the old O-rings from the oil filter cap using a flat blade screwdriver

STEP 9: fit the new oil filter on the cap and tighten the cap back

STEP 10: put back the cables / wires

STEP 11: remove the cap from the oil filler hole at the top of your engine and fill the engine with the new properly oil

In this case, for the VW Passat B7 2.0 TDI we added 4.5 liters

STEP 12: put back the cap from the oil filler hole and the engine cover

Wait for 5 to 10 minutes for the oil to settle into the oil pan, and then check the oil level with the dipstick.
