In this article, we will provide you with the necessary steps to change the key fob battery in Volvo XC60, S60, V60, V70, S80, XC70 and XC90 models produced between 2009 and 2017.
Steps to change the battery:
1. Remove the key blade from the key fob by sliding the button to the right.
2. Remove the cover from the key fob using the blade or using a flat blade screwdriver. Do this carefully so as not to damage the case.
3. Remove the first battery, put aside the white foil and remove the second battery. Use the screwdriver to carefully remove the batteries from their place.

Replace the old battery with the new one within 1 minute,
otherwise the key may become out of sync and will no longer work properly.
4. Install the new batteries in the same position where you removed the old batteries.
5. Install the cover from the key housing and the blade back on the key fob. Make sure all sections are aligned correctly. Try using the key to unlock or lock the car. If the key works properly, you have successfully completed the battery change!
