If you have pressed on the “Unlock” button on the key out of range or you have changed the key fob battery and it has taken more than a few minutes, you may no longer be able to unlock or lock the car using the car key. In this case, the key or remote control must be resynchronized or programmed as follows.
A deactivated key cannot be used to turn on the ignition or start the engine. In order to be able to use the car key again, it must be activated or reprogrammed.
A maximum of 8 keys can be programmed with the radio frequency car key (including those delivered with the new car). The key must remain inside the car during the synchronization or programming procedure.
Fasten your seat belts and close all doors to ensure that no alarm will be triggered during the programming.
- Turn the ignition key to position „II” four times in six seconds.
- Turn the key back to position “0” and wait until chime sound indicates you are in programming mode.
- Then within 10 seconds press any button on the remote key and you will hear a chime sound. Do not remove the key from the ignition when pressing the buttons.
- Turn the key to position 2 or you can wait 10 seconds to complete the key programming or synchronization. Then check the remote keys to see they are operating properly. This method is to open the doors remotely, to start the car you need to programme for the immobilizer (PATS).
