The purpose of the Climatronic or Air Conditioning system is to adjust the temperature inside the car according to the settings made by the driver. More precisely, the Climatronic system adjusts the speed of the fan inside the car and automatically operates the air distribution flaps to ensure a pleasant interior temperature.

But for regulate the air distribution flaps, there are some flap motors or actuators that are mounted on the HVAC box.

They are located in certain places on the HVAC in such a way as to guide the air guide flaps. Specifically, these flap motors close and open the flaps to direct air to the selected air vents by the switches on the climate control panel.

If one of the flap motors stops working, it will no longer allow the air flow flap to open or close, which causes air to blow constantly, or not at all through a certain air vent in the car.

HERE you can find VIDEO TUTORIAL on how to repair V70, V71, V107, V113, V158, V159 flap positioning motors!

So, in this video we will show you where the V70, V71, V107, V113, V158, V159 flap motors are positioned on Volkswagen Golf 5, Jetta, Caddy, Skoda Octavia 2, Seat Leon 2 and Audi A3 8P (20004-2008).

Before replacing any of the 6 flap motors, you must take into account that:

– you do not have a problem with heater core (if it’s clogged or cracked)

– on the VCDS diagnose tool (or other diagnosis) you have the error corresponding to the defective flap motor

– the HVAC system is set to blow air and is blowing cold air into one of the air vents

– strange noises are heard from the air vents or from under the dashboard when you start or use the car’s climate control panel

– the pollen filter cover is mounted properly and no cold air enters next to it

The V70 flap motor closes and opens the flaps for the central air vents  on the dashboard.

The V71 flap motor closes and opens the airflow flap that allows outside air to enter the car’s ventilation system.

The V107 flap motor is positioned next to the V158 flap motor and closes and opens the windshield defogger flaps.

Below in the video description you will find a link where we will also show how to repair these flap motors cheaply and easily.

The V113 flap motor closes and opens the air recirculation flap.

The V158 flap motor closes and opens the flap for the left air vent  (driver’s side) of the dashboard.

The V159 flap motor closes and opens the flap for the right air vent (passenger side) of the dashboard.
