How to activate or set Donut Style Look Tails on Volkswagen, VW Passat B6, Jetta (2006-2011) using VCDS (VAG COM) diagnostic tool.

After the coding, VW Passat B6 or Jetta it will have Corvette style tail lights. So, we just have to turn off the inner lights using the VCDS or VAG COM dyagnose tool.

 

Start with connecting the cable to the OBD2 port of the car. On Volkswagen Passat B6 the OBD2 port is located on the left side of the pedals. Wait until the green light is on and then connect the other end of the cable to the USB port on the laptop.

Start the car and go to the laptop and open the VCDS software. Here, if you never used the VCDS cable on this car, first you have to click on the Options, then select USB and click Test. If you have OK on K1, K2 and CAN, you can start the Donut Style activation.

Go to Select Control Module / 09-Electic Central / Coding 07 / Long Coding Helper and here you have to select Byte 9.

Here, on Bit 0-6, where you have Rear Brake Light as Parking Light. Decimal Value (Resolution 1%), you have to insert 0 value replacing the 10 value and then click Enter. Close the window and click Do it!. Then you have to click OK on ”Coding accepted”.
