HERE we have a Volkswagen Passat B6 from 2010, so to activate Cornering Lights, you have to use this VCDS or VAGCOM cable. You can use this diagnose tool on all Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi and Seat cars.

So you have to connect the cable have to the OBD2 port of the car. On Volkswagen Passat B6 the OBD2 port is located on the left side of the pedals. Wait until the green light is on and then connect the other end of the cable to the USB port on the laptop.

Start the car and go to the laptop and open the VCDS software. Here, if you never used the VCDS cable on this car, first you have to click on the Options, then select USB and click Test. If you have OK on K1, K2 and CAN, you can start the Cornering activation.

Go to Select Control Module / 09-Electic Central / Coding 07 / Long Coding Helper and here you have to select Byte 23.

Then select Byt 2 – Internal Turn light Control Algorithm active and on Bit 3-4 you have to select Turn Lights via Fog Lights.

Close the window and select OK. That’s it!

Now you can see that when you turn the steering wheel to the left, automatically the left fog light is on. And when you turn the steering wheel on the right, the right fog light is turned on. This will help you when you making a turn, this feature helps you to see better around corners.
