How to manually release and unlock DSG selector (in case of drained battery, defective fuse) on VW, Skoda, Audi, Seat in 3 steps
In case of interruption of the pwer supply (flat vehicle battery, defective fuse) or defect of the selector lever lock, the selector can no longer be shitfed from the position P in the normal way and the vehicle can no longer be moved. So, the selector lever must be unlocked in case of emergency:
First, you have to apply the handbrake firmly, then:
1. Lift the selector lever cover from the front side using your hands or a trim tool
2. Use a finger to press the yellow plastic part and simultaneously shift the selector lever in N (Neutral) position
3. Install the cover or the gaitor back.
