In this video tutorial we are going to show you how to use the AUTO-SCAN function or how to scan for fault codes using for VW, Skoda, Audi, Seat in just 4 simple steps.

Required tools:
–
– a laptop

First, you have to connect the to the OBD2 port of your car and to your laptop. Then…

1. Start the engine
2. Open your laptop and click on VCDS software that you have already installed on your laptop
3. Select „Options” and select USB / TEST / OK / SAVE
4. Click on „Auto-Scan” and wait a couple of minutes until VCDS scan all your car fault codes

Now you can see all the fault codes that VCDS (VAG-COM) has just found on your car
On the first line you can see the number of fault codes. The second line contains the P-code, or generic OBD-II code
along with additional information about the fault if it’s available.

You can try clearing fault codes and see if it throws the same code again. If so you might actually have a faulty motor.
