How to install front door puddle light on VW Golf Mk5, Golf Mk6, Rabbit, Jetta, Passat B6, B7, Tiguan, CC, Touran in 15 steps

Necessary tools:

This is how the new puddle lights look like.
There are 4 puddle lights: 2 for front doors and 2 for rear doors
These are the cables for the front door puddle lights. And these are the cables for rear door puddle lights.
1. Remove the door handle using a pry tool
2. Remove those 3 screws using a T30 Torx
3. Remove the only screw from the lower side of the door panel
4. Remove the door panel releasing it from the clips and then slide it up
5. Disconnect all the cables and unclip all the wires from the backside of the door panel
6. Disconnect the grey plug from the door electronic module
7. Cut the black zip tie using pliers
8. Release the wires from the grey plug
9. Plug the “+” positive wire into the 18 position and “-“ negative wire into the 19 position
Push them in until they locked
10. Put the wires back into the grey plug
11. Connect the grey plug to the door electronic module
If the puddle light wire is too long, you can rotate it around the door cables
12. Remove the old reflector and install the new puddle light
13. Connect the wires to the puddle light
14. Install the panel door and reconnect all the cables and wires
15. Use VCDS (VAG-COM Dyagnose System) tester to turn the door puddle lights on following the next steps:
Select Control Module / 42-Door Electr. Driver / Coding – 07 /
You have to ad 64 to the “Software Coding (0-8388607)” value. (180 + 64 = 244).
Then select “Do IT” and “OK” when you see “Coding accepted”
Return to menu and follow the next steps: Select Control Module / 52-Door Electr. Pass / Coding – 07 /
You have to ad 64 to the “Software Coding (0-8388607)” value. (180 + 64 = 244).
Then select “Do IT” and “OK” when you see “Coding accepted”
Exit menu and disconnect the VCDS from the car.
