Changing rear wheel bearings is a job that you could do it at home if you have some automotive experience, the proper tools and same space, like your own garage. Follow these steps for how to change rear wheel bearings on VW Golf 5 Mk5, Jetta, Skoda Octavia 1, Seat Leon, Audi A3:

Before you do that, you have to jack the car up so that the rear wheels are off the ground.

STEP 1: remove the wheel by unscrewing the screws

STEP 2: unbolt the caliper and take brake pads off. Be careful with the brake line

STEP 3: with a Philips screwdriver remove the screw on the disc brake

To loosen more easier, you can apply some hammer hits

STEP 4: take out the disc brake

STEP 5: with a flat-head screwdriver easily remove the hub cap

STEP 6: with a ratchet and a special socket loosen the screw wich is attached to the hub

STEP 7: remove the bearing

STEP 8: put the new bearing back on

And the next steps are: put the hub cap back on / place the disc brake back on the hub / fixed the screw on the disc brake / put the brake pads back on the caliper and fixed the caliper on disc brake / put back the wheel and fixed the screws.
