1. Remove the plastic cover from above the rearview mirror using a trim removal tool.

2. Connect the camera to the OBD Adapter cable.

3. Install the 4K camera on the windshield and hide all the cables inside the plastic housing

4. Hide the power cable under the headliner, the left pillar and behind the driver’s door jamb

5. Connect the 4K camera plug to the car’s OBD port. The OBD port or diagnostic socket is located at the bottom, on the left side of the pedals.

6. Insert the SDcard into the slot on the camera. Peel off the black sticker from the camera’s lens.

7. Start the engine and set up the dash cam using the instructions in the package. Download the SkyCam app using the QR code in the manual or from the App Store or PlayStore and then activate all the settings to connect your phone to the camera via Wi-Fi. This will give you access to the videos recorded by the camera.

This is what the box with the 4K camera from Mangoal looks like. Inside we find the installation instructions and other information about the 4K camera. Here we have the user manual and two plastic clamps for securing the cables.

In this bag is the adapter cable that is used if the car has an electric sunroof and you don’t need to use the OBD cable. This is a  trim removal tool with which you will open the plastics without scratching them. This is the GPS antenna. And here we have the power cable that will connect to the car’s diagnostic socket. Here we also have the rear camera that comes connected to one of the cables from the front camera. And this is the 128 Gigabytes  microSD card that is inserted into the camera to store the recorded videos. And here we have the video camera that is integrated into the housing behind the interior mirror and which is mounted together with the other half.

The car camera has 3 cables: this is the cable that connects to the 4k camera that comes mounted on the back of the car and comes in the package. This is the power cable that connects to the cable inserted into the car’s diagnostic socket. And we also have the cable that connects to the GPS antenna, which we will not install it. The car camera works very well without the GPS antenna.

If you open the Skycam app you can see the App settings where you can choose the language and the Date Format.  Here you can see a video tutorial on how to install the 4K Dash Cam for your car.

If you go to camera, you can see the dash camera recording. And if you go to Camera Files and then in the Loop section, you can see all the video recordings from the dash camera.

You have to know that Loop Recording can automatically replaces old videos with the newest ones when the memory card is full.

You also have the Snapshot section where you can see the pictures that you have made by pressing the button from the dash camera. In the Locked section you can find the locked videos if the  car have been involved in a car accident. 

The 4k dash cam has a G-Sensor that detects a sudden collision and immediately save & lock current video to a specified folder. And Parking section where you can find recording videos that were made when the dash cam was in Parking mode.

In Camera Settings you can turn on the sound recording and the speaker volume. You can modify the image resolution and video resolution.

You can change the Loop recording wich is the length of the video recording. 

You can turn on the Parking monitoring collision Detection and start recording, providing 24 hours protection of your car. You can change the Parking Monitoring duration between 12 hours, 24 hours or 48 hours.

Also you can download each video from the dash cam or you can copy it from the SD card.
