Here is a video on how to set Lock & Unlock the Driver’s Door Only with the Key on Volkswagen Golf 7, Passat, CC, Tiguan, Touran, Caddy, Polo, Eos, Beetle, Jetta, Sharan, Scirocco, etc. in just 3 easy steps.

You should set the driver’s door to lock automatically in situations when you are driving alone, as this provides an added layer of security by preventing unauthorized access from the other doors. 

Additionally, locking the driver’s door can serve as a deterrent in case of theft or attempted theft, as it makes it more difficult for potential thieves to enter the vehicle from the passenger or rear doors. 

Implementing this lock setting also helps to protect the other three door lock modules by ensuring that they are secured and less vulnerable to tampering or accidental unlocking. 

Overall, activating the driver’s door lock in these situations enhances both your personal safety and the security of your vehicle.

1. First, turn the ignition on.

2. Enter the menu from the instrument cluster display and access “Convenience”.

3. Select “Central Locking” and here select “Single door”.

If you want to open just the left doors, you should select “Left doors”. 

Let’s see if it’s working. So, I press the unlock button on the key fob to open the doors. And now I try to open the doors. 

You can see that driver’s door is now open. Let’s check the other door from the back. It’s closed. Let’s check also the doors from the right side of the car. Also these are closed. So, it’s working.

If you want to return to the factory settings when you open all 4 doors by pressing on the unlock button on the key fob, check “All doors” again.
