Mazda 6 & CX-5 – Side Mirror Not Folding or Opening? Easy Fix!

Are your Mazda 6 or CX-5 side mirrors not opening, closing, or folding automatically? Don’t worry — this is a common issue and can often be fixed without replacing the entire mirror assembly!

HERE you can find WD-40 Lubricant: https://amzn.to/4nMTED2

Common causes:

•Blown fuse or faulty mirror switch

•Weak or jammed mirror motor

•Dirt, corrosion, or ice buildup around the hinge

•Electrical connection issue after battery disconnection

Quick tip: If your mirror is stuck, avoid forcing it by hand — that can break the gears inside. Instead, follow the step-by-step troubleshooting process to get it working smoothly again.

1. Turn on the ignition (don’t start the engine!).

2. Adjust the mirror to the left to create more space on the right side of the mirror.

Find WD-40 Lubricant below at the link in the video description!

3. Apply WD-40 lubricant behind the mirror where the arrow is pointing.

4. Fold and open the mirror several times to better lubricate the motor.

As you can see, the problem of the intermittent opening of the exterior mirror has been solved.
