TUTORIAL: How to manually / emergency release & unlock automatic gearbox selector (in case of drained battery, defective fuse) on Audi A3, A4 B9, A5, A6, A7, A8 (2018-2022) in 4 easy steps
Hey there! If you want to know how to manually or emergency release & unlock automatic gearbox selector in case of drained battery, defective fuse on Audi A3, A4 B9, A5, A6, A7, A8 (2018-2022) watch the video tutorial below to see how to do it in just four easy steps.
1. Open the trunk and take the cover down and grab the red tool from the spare wheel kit
2. Remove that rubber part from the front cup holder pulling in that small tabs from the left or right
3. Remove the plastic cap from inside the cup holder using a flat blade screwdriver or even your Audi key blade
4. Insert that special red tool and rotate it clockwise to unlock the gearbox from Parking (P) into Neutral (N)
As long as you keep the red tool in vertical position, the car can be moved, pushed or towed. After you moved the car in a safe location, you can put the red tool in the normal position and then take it out.
