How to replace / change the interior lights with LEDs on VW Golf Mk5, Mk6, Golf GTI, Jetta in 29 steps

In this video tutorial we are going to show you how to replace / change the interior lights (glove box light, front and rear dome lights, trunk light and puddle lights) and also some exterior lights (number / licence plate lights). The box has 14 pieces (+T20 decoder) 100% canbus LED interior lights for VW GTI, Golf MK6, Jetta.

Required tools:

  • a flat blade screwdriver
  • a pry (trim) tool
  • a T20 Torx

How to replace dome lights with LED lights

1. Open the storage holder (glasses box) using a trim tool
2. Remove the plastic part from the middle
3. Remove the two screws using a T20 Torx
4. Remove the plastic part with lights and disconnect the cables
5. Remove the light bulbs and replace it with LED lights
Try the new LED lights before you install the plastic part with lights
6. Install the dome light back
7. Install all the remaining parts from the dome light

How to replace / change rear dome lights with LED lights

8. Remove the plastic cap using a pry (trim) tool
9. Replace the light bulbs with LED lights
10. Install the plastic cap back on the rear dome light

How to replace / change light from the glove box

11. Open the glove box
12. Use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the lamp light
13. Disconnect the cables
14. Use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the case from the lamp
15. Replace the light bulb with Led light
16. Install the lamp back on the glove box.

How to replace / change trunk light wiht LED light

17. Remove the lamp using a flat blade screwdriver
18. Disconnect the cables
19. Replace the light bulb with LED light
20. Connect the cables and install the lamp back on

How to install LED lights on puddle lights

21. Remove the puddle light using a flat blade screwdriver
22. Disconnect the cables
23. Open the puddle light and replace the light bulb with LED light
24. Install the puddle light back on the door panel

How to install LED lights on number plates lights

25. Remove the license plate lamp
26. Remove the light bulb and replace it with T20 decoder
27. Install the LED light on T20 decoder
28. Install the LED light on the lamp
29. Install the lamp back on the rear spoiler
It is the same procedure for the other lamp.

How to install rear doors puddle lights on VW Golf Mk5, Golf Mk6, Rabbit, Jetta, Passat B6, B7, Tiguan, CC, Touran in 11 steps

In this video tutorial we are going to show you how to install rear doors puddle lights on VW Golf Mk5, Golf Mk6, Rabbit, Passat B6, B7,
Tiguan, CC, Touran, Scirocco in just 11 simple steps.

Necessary tools:

–          A pry tool

–          A flat blade screwdriver

–          A T30 Torx

–          Pliers

1. Remove the door handle using a pry tool

2. Remove those 2 screws using a T30 Torx

3. Remove the only screw from the lower side of the door panel

4. Remove the door panel releasing it from the clips and then slide it up and disconnect all the cables and wires

5. Disconnect the grey plug from the door electronic module

Cut the black zip tie using pliers

6. Pull the purple ring out and plug the “+” positive wire into the 4th position and “-“ negative wire into the 14 position

7. Push back the purple ring

8. Remove the old reflector and install the new puddle light

9. Connect the wires to the puddle light

If the puddle light wire is too long, you can rotate it around the door cables

10. Install the panel door and reconnect all the cables and wires

11. Use VCDS (VAG-COM Dyagnose System) tester to turn the door puddle lights on following the next steps:

Select Control Module / 62-Door Rear Left / Coding-07…

You have to ad 64 to the Software Coding (0-83…) value. (144 + 64 = 208).

Then select “Do IT” and “OK” when you see “Coding accepted”

Return to menu and follow the next steps: Select Control Module / 72-Door Rear Right / Coding-07…

You have to ad 64 to the Software Coding (0-83…) value. (144 + 64 = 208).

Then select “Do IT” and “OK” when you see “Coding accepted”

Exit menu and disconnect the VCDS from the car.

1. Press on the right corner of the mirror glass just to get your fingers underneath and then…

How to check / verify the real kilometers / mileage on VW, Skoda, Audi, Seat with VCDS (VAGCOM) in 4 steps

If you want to check or verify the real kilometers (mileage) on your car (VW, Skoda, Seat, Audi) with VCDS (VAGCOM) we are going to show you how to do that. Just follow the steps from the video below:

 

1. Start the engine
2. Connect the VCDS cable to the OBD2 port of your car
3. Plug the VCDS (VAG-COM) cable into any USB port on your laptop
4. Click on VCDS software that you have already installed on your laptop and select:
Options / Test / Ok / Save / Select Control Module / 17-Instruments / Adaptation-10 / Documented adaptation channels can be selected here / Mileage/Odometer
Here we check if the value from the “Stored Value” is the same with the mileage from car display.

You can also check the real kilometers here: Applications / EDC 15-16 mileage / Read
Again we check if the value from the VCDS is the same with the mileage from car display.

 

TUTORIAL: How to activate the indicators on as DRLs (day time running lights) on VW Golf Mk5, Jetta with VCDS (VAG-COM) in 3 steps

Watch this video tutorial to see how to activate DRLs (day time running lights) or indicators on (US style) on VW Golf Mk5, Jetta in just
3 simple steps.

Required tools:
– a VCDS OBD2 diagnostic tool
– a laptop

 

1. Start the engine
2. Connect the VCDS cable to the OBD2 port of your VW Golf Mk5 or Jetta
3. Plug the VCDS (VAG-COM) cable into any USB port on your laptop
And then follow the steps from the video:
Open the VCDS software that you have already installed on your laptop and select:  Options / USB (in our case) / Test / Save
Return to Menu and click on: Select Control Module / 09-Cent. Elect./ Coding-07 / Long Coding Helper
Go to Byte 7 (Turn Signal Front left/right as Parking Light Front left/right (USA and Canada)) and replace the 0 with a number from 1-100.
This number represent the light intensity.

Pres the Enter button and close the window. Select Ok to accept the code and then return to menu or close the window.

2. Use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the lamp light
3. Disconnect the cables
4. Use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the case from the lamp
5. Replace the light bulb with a new one

Install the lamp back on the glove box.

1. Apply some double sided adhesive tape

2. Remove the handle cap and then wrap the door pannel with the leather
If the piece of leather is too large, you can cut it with scissors

3. Install the door handle cap back

4. Apply some double sided adhesive tape on the upper side of door panel

5. Wrap the leather on the inner door panel.

– steering wheel module
– clock spring airbag spiral

1. Insert a sharp and flat tool to press on the inside clip
2. Use a flat blade screwdriver to take the oustide clip off
3. Remove the wiper switch sliding it towards you.

TUTORIAL: How to remove interior trims on VW Golf Mk5, Rabbit, Jetta (2003 – 2009)

In this video tutorial we will show you how you can remove interior trim on VW Golf Mk5, Rabbit, Jetta (2003 – 2009) if you want to paint it, wrapp it in carbon fiber vinyl, or swapp it out. Or, you can replace the interior aluminium trim with so called a carbon fiber look trim for front doors, rear doors and dashboard.

We are going to replace the interior trim with this carbon fiber look trim. These carbon fiber look trims we have bought from a junkyard, but you can search it also on online spare parts shops.

 

Requierd tools:

– a trim / pry tool

1. Remove the door trim starting from the front to the back
2. Install the carbon fiber trim starting from the left side of the door
3. Remove the dashboard trim from the left side starting from the right
4. Install the carbon fiber trim starting also from the left side
5. Remove the dashboard trim from the right starting with the left side
6. Install the carbon fiber trim starting from the right
7. Remove the trim from the glove box starting from the right
8. Install the carbon fiber trim starting from the left side
9. Remove the passanger door trim starting from the front
10. Install the new carbon fiber trim starting from the right side of the door
11. Remove the rear door trims starting also from the left side of the door (from the front)
12. Install the new carbon fiber trims starting from the right side of the door (from the back).

Before you start, you have to disconnect the negative terminal from your car battery and wait minimum 15 minutes. Then…

 

Required tools:
– a ratchet and a T20 Torx
– a trim tool

1. Pry the dash end cap away from the dash using a trim tool
2. Remove the plastic part on the center section using a trim tool
3. Use the trim tool (or a small screwdriver) to remove the airbag badge
4. Use a T20 Torx to remove the screw behind the badge
5. Remove the A-pillar trim piece using your hands to pull it back.
