This video tutorial will show you where is the Mercedes-Benz A-Class W168 battery and fuse box location in 5 simple steps. The reason that we made this clip is because the battery and also the fuse box is not it the most convetional places, and is not easily spotted.

 

1.       Slide the passenger seat fully backward

2.       Remove the floor mat and look for the black turn tab laying flat (missing from out car) on the floor pan, flick up one side of the tab and undo anti-clockwise

3.       Lift the floor panel out sliding from beneath the edge of  centre bulkhead

4.       Remove the plastic cover foam cushion.

If you intend replacing the battery, first you have to remove the negative terminal followed by the positive terminal. But before that, make sure that you have the radio code to re-start it.

How to reset service light on Mercedes-Benz A-Class W168 (1997 – 2004) in 6 steps

This VIDEO TUTORIAL will show you how to reset service light or service indicator on Mercedes-Benz W168 (1997 – 2004) in just 6 simple steps:

 

STEP 1: turn the key in the second position (don’t start the engine)

STEP 2: press immediately and very fast on the “000.0” button twice

STEP 3: turn the key off

STEP 4: turn the key in the second position

STEP 5: press and hold the “000.0” button for few seconds until the service interval is reset

STEP 6: release the button and turn the key off.

The next service interval it will be reset after 15.000 km.

If you want to check if the service light / oil service was correctely reset, turn the key in the second position and see if the keys still appears on display.

To have acces to brake pads, first you have to remove the wheel. Then…

STEP 1: take the pin out from the caliper

STEP 2: remove the component that holds the brake pads in place

STEP 3: pull the caliper pistons with the screwdriver to take the brake pads out

STEP 4: replace the worn brake pads with the new ones

This is just a simulation, that’s why we used the same brake pads.

STEP 5: fix the the component that holds the brake pads in place

STEP 6: put the pin back inside the caliper

This is how you reset service light on a Mercedes-Benz A-Class (2004 – 2012):

STEP 1: turn the key in the second position

STEP 2: press quickly 3 times on the left buton on the cluster (you should see the “UB” on display)

STEP 3: go to “SERVICE DATA” pressing one of the arrow buttons on the steering wheel

STEP 4: go to “Confirmation” using “+” or “-“ buttons on the right side of the steering wheel

STEP 5: press the left button (menu button) on the steering wheel to select “Confirmation”

STEP 6: select “Full service” from the display menu pressing the left button (menu button) on the steering wheel

Wait until “Service confirmed” message appears on display.

Mercedes-Benz CLS service light reset, in 6 steps

Follow those 6 steps from the video below to learn how to reset service light on a Mercedes-Benz CLS:

STEP 1: turn the key to position one

STEP 2: push the reset button from the left side of the instrument cluster three times

STEP 3: scroll to the “Service menu” pushing the button with arrow up

STEP 4: push the “+” or the “-“ button until you see “Confirmation” on display

STEP 5: push on the right side of the button marked with two rectangles

STEP 6: push again on the same button (the one with two rectangles, on the right) to confirmed “Full service”

Then, you’ll have to see the message “Service confirmed”

Because this was just a simulation, the message that appears in the video is “Service not confirmed”

To verify if you did the reset correctly, you have to turn the key to position one and scroll through the display meniu to search if the “Service in xxx km” message is there
